The welcome reception the night before had about 50-100 people that showed up to taste wine, cheese, food, and my new favorite:

One of the things I learned is that the leanest part of the cow is not the filet.. but the heart:

My friend Chris was the 'M.C.' of most of the event.

Thomas Keller ofFrench Laundrymade a cameo appearance.

Chef Roland Henin Showing off one of his books. He also was Thomas Keller's old mentor.

There was alot of this going on:

spoke about how we have more chinese food restaurants in the world than Mc Donalds, KFC, Burger King, and Wendy's combined. It was also funny when she showed a video of a visit to China and she brought them fortune cookies and the Chinese had no idea of what they were and had never seen a fortune before either..

Ted Allenfrom Queer eye for the straight guy was a moderator...and funny too

At night there were lavish dinner parties all over the Napa Valley.I stumbled uponHall vineyards,

Christine Carroll withCulinary Corpsspoke about helping out in New Orleans with the affected areas of New Orleans after Katrina.

Raise your hand if you like wine!

Good Quote:

Dennis vanEngelsdorp spoke about bees...and lots of them,or should I say the absence of them.

Mathurin Molgat from New Zealand came all the way to speak about theSong of the Kauri
The guitar he is holding was made from a Kauri tree...and it sold for $XX,XXX.

I think that it sold because these two played and sang a beautiful song with it..

At the end of the event, Tom Rielly and Rieves gave a wrap up (in a funny way) of the past two days events.

The finale was atthe Robert Modavi Winery
which had dinner in the vineyards, and a concert with Tiempo Libre from Miami. Here are some shots from the days end:
